Your body is capable of extraordinary things.

We provide acupuncture and integrative medicine to support your reproductive health — whether you're trying to conceive naturally, preparing for IVF, regulating your cycle, or navigating a complex hormonal concern. Clinical care, rooted in respect for your body and your goals.

⎯ WHAT WE TREAT

Reproductive health is rarely one thing.

We treat the full picture — the physical symptoms, the emotional weight, and the interconnected systems that affect fertility and hormonal health.

▸ PCOS & Endometriosis
Symptom management, cycle regulation, and fertility-focused care for polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis — addressing pain, inflammation, and hormonal imbalance.

▸ PMS, PMDD & Painful Periods
Targeted support for premenstrual symptoms, severe mood changes, dysmenorrhea, and heavy bleeding — with the goal of reducing reliance on symptom-masking medications when possible.

▸ IVF, IUI & ART Support
Protocol-aligned acupuncture during stimulation, pre- and post-transfer support, and cycle-specific care designed to complement your reproductive endocrinologist's plan.

▸ Irregular or Absent Cycles
Amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, anovulatory cycles, and post-birth-control cycle recovery. We work with your body's rhythm to help restore regularity and ovulatory function.

▸ Fertility & Conception Support
Support for natural conception, unexplained infertility, age-related fertility concerns, and recurrent pregnancy loss — including egg quality and implantation-window support.

▸ Male Reproductive Health
Acupuncture for sperm quality, motility, and count. Male factor is present in roughly half of infertility cases — we address it with the same clinical depth as any other concern.

⎯ HOW WE WORK

A structured course of care — not a one-off visit.

Reproductive health responds best to consistent, individualized treatment over time. Here's what care looks like with us.

Comprehensive Intake
Your first visit is 90 minutes. We review your full reproductive history — cycle patterns, labs, prior treatments, fertility goals — along with your broader health picture. Nothing is rushed.

Individualized Treatment Plan
We design a course of care specific to your cycle phase, hormonal presentation, and clinical goals. If you're working with a fertility specialist, we coordinate with their protocol.

Consistent Weekly Sessions
Most fertility patients benefit from weekly acupuncture — typically 7 follow-up sessions after your intake. Each treatment builds on the last, adapting as your body responds.

Track, Adjust, Collaborate
We monitor functional outcomes each visit — cycle symptoms, BBT, mood, energy, labs — and adjust treatment accordingly. We coordinate with your OB/GYN or RE as needed.

Your treatment may include

  • Acupuncture — cycle-phase-specific point protocols informed by ABORM training, IMFCP and traditional East Asian medicine

  • Herbal medicine — individualized formulas targeting your specific hormonal pattern (billed separately)

  • Myofascial therapy — addressing pelvic tension, abdominal adhesions, and structural patterns affecting reproductive function

  • Lab review & ordering — when clinically indicated, we review existing labs or recommend targeted bloodwork to inform your treatment plan and track progress

  • Supplement & nutrition guidance — evidence-informed recommendations for folate, CoQ10, vitamin D, and other nutrients relevant to fertility (billed separately)

  • Lifestyle protocol — sleep, stress reduction, exercise, and environmental factor recommendations individualized to your situation

Herbal medicine, labs, and vitamin supplements are billed separately from visit fees — because each is individualized to your specific needs.

Anyone who finds themselves lucky enough to call Dr. Bustillo their doctor knows that he is the absolute best at what he does in so many ways! I came to him first for shoulder pain, and then for help with fertility needs. He is attentive, caring, kind and always made me feel like I was in the best hands for the care I needed at the moment. He is a gem of a person - as both an acupuncturist and a human being.

I came to Dr. Bustillo after experiencing pain in my lower back for years. After one session I was able to stand straight. After six sessions I was able to travel out of the country walk for miles and never experienced any problems. Later in the year I was told I needed to have surgery for a torn rotator cuff. I went to see Dr. Bustillo again and have not need to have surgery. I would recommend him without hesitation as one of the finest human beings I have ever met as well as a skilled and talented doctor in the field of acupuncture and wellness. He is leaving the Austin Area and if necessary I will travel to wherever he is. He is just that good.

⎯ COMMON QUESTIONS

What patients ask before starting

  • We typically recommend 8 sessions for a fertility-focused course of care — one intake visit followed by 7 weekly treatments. This allows enough time to work through at least one full cycle and adjust treatment as your body responds. Some patients continue beyond the initial series depending on their goals and response.

  • Yes — and it's one of the most common reasons patients seek us out. We are ABORM-trained, including protocol-specific support for stimulation phases, pre- and post-transfer, and luteal-phase care. We coordinate our timing with your RE's protocol so everything works together.

  • We are a self-pay practice. After every visit, we provide a detailed superbill with CPT codes that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We also accept FSA and HSA funds — acupuncture is a qualified medical expense for both.

  • Herbal formulas are prescribed individually and billed separately — because every formula is custom-compounded for your pattern. Most formulas cost between $0.50 and $0.75 per gram. At a typical dose of about 63 grams per week, most patients pay approximately $32–$65 per week. Herbs are always optional.

  • Yes. All care at Meaningful Medicine Clinic is consent-based, trauma-aware, and uses non-assumptive language about bodies and gender. We believe reproductive health care should be safe and respectful for every patient, regardless of identity or experience.

You don't have to navigate this alone.
